Chartered Accountants Ireland supports six District Societies in Ireland, one in London and one in Australia (Sydney).
Ulster
Chartered Accountants Ulster Society is the oldest district society of the Institute and serves around 3,200 members throughout Northern Ireland. The Ulster Society provides professional, educational and social services and events for its members (both in practice and in business) and is a strong voice for Northern Ireland's business sector. The Society also actively fosters relationships with other accountancy, professional organisations and government bodies. The Chairman is Michael Black.
Leinster
The Leinster Society is the largest district society of Chartered Accountants Ireland. The Society has at present over 9,300 members. The committee of the Leinster Society provides both educational and social services for its Members. The Chairman is Frank Gannon.
Cork
Chartered Accountants Cork Society is a District Society of Chartered Accountants Ireland and is run by a committee of up to 15 local members. The Society has four sub-committees:
- Communications
- Training, Education & Careers ( incl. CPD )
- Members' Services
- Chartered Accountants in Business
The Society runs a number local social, networking and CPD events for members every year. The Chairman is Anthony Reidy.
Mid-West
The Mid West Society was re-established in 2007 and represents the interests of up to 1,000 local business leaders, who are employed in senior financial positions in industry, commerce and practice. As a young and dynamic group of professionals (58% are under 40 years of age), the Society not only provides professional development and social networking opportunities but also has the necessary energy and ambition to foster enterprise in the region. Rory O'Neill is this year's Chairman.
Western
The Western Society is primarily focused on the county of Galway and provides social and professional networking for its 500 members. Donal Leahy is the Chairman.
North West
This Society, established in 2009, serves Chartered Accountants in Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo, where it interacts with the business community and provides professional supports and social networking for its members. The Chairman is Declan Walsh.
London
Nearly 1,000 members who live and/or work within the Greater London area are served by the London Society of Chartered Accountants Ireland. Since its inauguration in March 2009, this Society has presented a regular and varied programme of CPD and networking events. Council member Gerry Nicholas is Chairman of the Society.
Australia
Chartered Accountants Ireland has an active District Society based in Sydney, who provide opportunities for Irish members to meet for social and professional purposes. The Chairman is Niall Scullion.
