The new FAE programme is now underway. The FAE has three types of lectures:
1. Revision and Update
These are large 'chalk and talk' sessions giving students a whistle-stop tour of relevant CAP1 / CAP2 areas and incorporating any technical updates. Classes are open to all students irrespective of enrolment status. Sessions commenced in November, and to date take up has been excellent.
2. Technical & Participative
Comprising the main part of the FAE programme, these classes are limited in size to 100 students (a significant reduction in some centres). This is the forum for presenting new material, and will largely be taught through case studies. Preparation and active participation is key - case study based lectures are most effective when students have completed a modest amount of work before attending the class.
3. Integrated Case study tutorials.
The new FAE Core exam will comprise of integrated case studies, thus each student will have 3 integrated tutorials throughout the year. With a maximum size of 50 students, these tutorials will allow students to work through case studies in small groups.
