UK - FSA publishes market watch

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) in the UK have published the latest Market Watch newsletter on Transaction Reporting Issues which includes:

  • An update on the alternative instrument identifier (AII) project (aim of project was to ensure the FSA met all the obligations set out under MiFID for reporting all AII derivative transactions)
  • Populating the instrument identification code and instrument identification code type fields
  • Transaction reporting - new validation for ISO 10383 market identifier codes
  • Transaction reporting forum
  • Completing the quantity field for spread bet transactions
  • Quality and completeness of transaction reporting
  • Unique client identifiers
