The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) have published their 7th annual report on creating value in banking. The report focuses on how the crisis is changing the banking industry and what these changes mean for banks.
The report begins with an overview of the impact of the financial crisis on the banking industry as a whole.
This is followed by an in-depth look at the imperitives for five specific businesses; retail banking, corporate banking, investment banking, asset management and wealth management. Comprehensive data about the state of the banking industry in 2008, is also included.
The BCG report that the market capitalisation of the global banking industry has fallen by $5.5bn, since the pre-crisis peak. The report also includes a ranking of the top banking industry performers by size and country (includes the UK).
