The Committee of European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Supervisors (CEIOPS) has published a report which highlights the main findings drawn from CEIOPS Members' responses to a Questionnaire on the Regulatory Treatment of Third Country Reinsurance Undertakings and on Existing Equivalence Procedures.
The questionnaire responses:
- do not expose any problems regarding market access through establishment (all Respondents permitted the establishment of a branch within their jurisdiction); and
- reveal that most Respondents apply stringent authorisation processes within their jurisdiction to the establishment of a branch.
