The current economic climate and market turbulence pose important challenges for those involved in the financial reporting process - company directors, audit committees, auditors and users. It is critically important that all stakeholders remain familiar with their obligations under company law and are aware of the relevant issues in areas such as financial reporting and auditing.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ICAI) is pleased to today launch its Credit Crunch online resource. The service, which is hosted on the Institute's website (www.icai.ie) brings together in a single reference point information relevant to ICAI members and others. It includes common technical issues associated with the current crisis as well as information about related ICAI services: careers advice, pertinent courses, ICAI's CARE (Chartered Accountant Responsible Ethics) and benevolent services.
According to ICAI's Director of Representation and Technical Policy (RTP), Aidan Lambe, "Many individual ICAI members are likely to be facing into uncertain times as a result of the economic downturn. This service aims to support our members with timely and relevant information, updated on a regular basis."
