HMRC are in the process of issuing Tax Credit renewal packs with annual declaration forms for the purposes of renewing Tax Credit claims. The form can be completed in hard copy and returned to HMRC or claimants can call the Tax Credit Helpline and give HMRC the information on 0845 300 3900 or textphone 0845 300 3909.
The deadline for returning the form or calling HMRC with the information is usually 31 July, but may be stated as another date on the front of tax credit renewal pack. If HMRC do not receive a response by the deadline, tax credits payments will be stopped and individuals will be asked to pay back any overpayments from the last year and any payments made to since 6 April.
