ICAI News - 30th March 2009

Mon, Mar 30, 2009

Following the consultation on the project on High Net Worth Individuals ("HNWI") on 9 February 2009, the OECD has released public comments received on the project. ICAI has provided comments under the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies - Ireland (CCAB-I) and the Global Accounting Alliance (GAA).

The CCAB-I comments are available here. In summary, the comments draw on the current situation in Ireland with regard to High Net Worth Individuals, in particular the dedicated unit dealing with HNWIs. In addition, concern was expressed with having forms of special arrangement applying to HNWIs over and above arrangements available to taxpayers generally.

The GAA comments are available here. This document summarises the link between the earlier Tax Intermediaries Project.
