Practitioners and taxpayers are reminded that the deadline for filing the 2008 income tax return and making payment of the relevant tax due is fast approaching. Paper returns are due on or before 31 October. For individuals who pay and file through ROS, the deadline is extended to 16 November.
Taxpayers are also reminded that the deadline of 31 October, or in the case of ROS customers the deadline of 16 November, applies for the:
- Payment of preliminary tax for the current year 2009
- Payment of the balance of tax due for the previous tax year 2008
- Payment of the income levy due
- RAC and PRSA payments under sections 787(7) and 787C(3) and claiming the relief
- AVC payments under section 774(8) or section 776(3) TCA 1997
- Form RR1 submissions under section 485FB
The ROS Helpdesk opening hours will be extended leading up to the ROS pay and file deadline of 16 November.
