Special Reports - Financial Commitment Discharge Declaration for Waste Management Permits

Fri, Oct 2, 2009

The Technical Department has recently received a number of queries in relation to the signing of afinancial commitment discharge declaration report in order for a client to obtain a waste management permit.

The report requires an external respresentative of the company such as a chartered accountant to sign a financial declaration that the applicant is likely to be in a position to meet any financial commitments or liabilites that will be entered into or incurred by the applicant in carrying out the waste collection activity to which the waste collection permit relates in accordance with the terms of the permit, or as a consequence of ceasing to carry on that activity.

We will be contacting the relevant body to discuss the issue and will keep membership updated but in the meantime, members are advised not to sign such reports given the open-ended nature of the declaration involved.

Members receiving requests for these and similar reports from third parties can contact: technical@icai.ie
