Responding to an invitation from HSBC Ireland, members of the team from Chartered Accountants Ireland recently took part in their 'CPD week.' CPD week was according to Caríosa Kelly, Head of Learning and People Development with HSBC, 'an opportunity for our employees to meet with representatives from their professional body.'
The event was run over lunch time period and gave Chartered Accountants and other staff the opportunity to discuss training and CPD related issues.
Dearbhla Carmody CPD manager with ICAI explained how, 'it was great to meet with members at their place of work, to showcase the services we offer, our range of CPD and Diploma programmes and of course our training in business CA entry route.'
Caríosa Kelly believed that the event was a huge success and that it helped to promote the value of professional qualifications and the benefits of membership of a professional body.
Over the course of the event Chartered Accountants and others interested in undertaking training courses such as the Diploma in Corporate Finance discussed their options. A number of HSBC staff also made enquiries about becoming Chartered Accountants and learned more about the new Elevation Programme entry route for experienced professionals.
Emily Ryan, Business Development Executive with Chartered Accountants Ireland explained how 'the Elevation programme is perfect for those who have been working for a number of years and who now wish to gain a professional qualification; it allows you to continue working while studying to become a Chartered Accountant at the same time.'
