The European Commission has launched the first phase of a new web portal to help businesses, who are subject to a number of important rules and regulations with regard to Customs, to understand and follow the customs procedures for importing goods into and exporting goods from the EU.

The portal which can be accessed here http://ec.europa.eu/ecip/index_en.htm is designed for any trader who has to pass through customs as part of their business, such as haulage or shipping companies, importers and exporters.
