Auctioneers and Valuers - Audit Exemption

Fri, Aug 13, 2010

The Companies Registration Office ('CRO') have pronounced in their latest ezine newsletter that Auctioneers and valuers are entitled to claim audit exemption provided they meet the relevant criteria. According to the latest CRO ezine:

"Since February 2005, CRO has operated on the basis that auctioneers and valuers which meet the criteria, ARE entitled to claim an audit exemption under the Companies (Amendment)(No.2) Act 1999 as they do not come within the scope of No. 7, Second Schedule to the 1999 Act since they are not "engaged in the business of accepting deposits or other repayable funds or granting credit for its own account".
