Education Survey on Financial Reporting Education & Assessment

Fri, Dec 16, 2011

Chartered Accountants Ireland is currently undertaking work to explore the challenges being encountered with the education and assessment of financial reporting in professional education programmes.  This issue has been particularly evident in the recent pass rates for this subject at CAP2.   For the initial stage of the work, we have compiled a questionnaire which can be accessed here.

This survey is being circulated to a number of relevant stakeholders (including members, lecturers, examiners, students and academics).  All members are encouraged to consider completing it (It will probably take about 20 minutes).  The survey findings will be used as the basis of a discussion forum and/or some focus groups in the early part of 2012.  From there we will be prioritising any additional actions required to address this key challenge.

If you know of others who might be interested in completing the survey, please feel free to pass this message on. The survey will be closed on January 9th 2012.  We look forward to any contributions you might be able to make.  As always, should you have any queries, please contact Joanne Powell,  Syllabus Development Manager, Chartered Accountants Ireland.
