  • What are the opening hours?

    Dublin Opening Hours:

    Term time:

    • Monday-Thursday: 9.30am - 7:30pm
    • Friday: 9:30am - 5:30pm
    • Saturday & Sunday: 9:30am - 2:00pm

    Please note: outside of student term timetable the service will be open: 9:30am - 5:30pm (Monday-Friday)

    Belfast Opening Hours:

    • Monday-Friday: 9.00am-5.00pm

    Please contact us in advance if you wish to confirm that a member of the RIS Enquiry Team will be in attendance when you visit.

    Outside of these hours, please complete an Online Enquiry Form. We will respond during the following business day.

  • What type of research service do you offer?

    We can assist members in the following ways:

    • Answering information queries by searching our extensive archive of books, periodicals, reports and online databases, we can provide you with access to a wide range of information resources on the accountancy profession.
    • Research Enquiry Service by drawing on our research expertise, we can provide support and input for members who are working on ad hoc research projects.

  • Do you offer an update alert service to members?

    The following alert services are available to members:

    • Current Awareness alerts offering regular email updates on key topics affecting the accountancy profession.
    • A Research & Information Services eNewsletter. Content includes: Recent acquisitions, database updates, new products and services available to Chartered Accountants Ireland members.
    • Table of Content alerts offering email alerts when a new issue of selected journals are available to access online from members' desktops.

  • What resources are available?

    Research and Information Services offers the following facilities:

    • Twenty thousand books, journals and reports on a diverse range of business subjects including: Accounting, Auditing, Company Law, Information Technology, Management and Taxation.
    • Access to online databases including EBSCO; IFACnet; Business Focus; Industry Guides; Corporate Finance Manual Online and Financial Due Diligence Online.
    • Online catalogue - a searchable database covering all of our printed collections is available via the website. Full texts of items can be requested by members and registered students from RIS.
    • Research Email Enquiry Service - Access to a fully trained researcher who will use our extensive collections, databases and network of information service contacts to find the information you require.

  • Do I have to come in to get the information?

    No. You can access some content directly from the website including the online catalogue, IFACnet and if you are a member, EBSCO Business Source Corporate.

  • Do I have to be a member to come in?

    If you are not a member you are very welcome to use our website and online catalogue of printed collections to search for information, however you are not entitled to borrow items. Chartered Accountants Ireland members and registered students can automatically visit RIS, Dublin or Belfast, as can members of the Global Accounting Alliance.
