The Chartered Accountant qualification provides you with the opportunity for a diverse and rewarding career. At Chartered Accountants Ireland, our responsibility is to support you and the qualification. That's why we were one of the first accountancy bodies to make Lifelong Learning requirements mandatory for members, why we work with our international counterparts to open up opportunities for Chartered Accountants abroad and why we are offering an increased range of post ACA qualifications for members who wish to hone their skills further.

Career Service
Charteerd Accountants Ireland runs a Careers and Placement Service for members seeking employment or a change of employment. There are many vacancies available in practice or business/industry, in many countries worldwide. You can search for jobs online. Members wishing to register their CV or firms wishing to advertise vacancies can do so by emailing careers@icai.ie. In addition to this service, we have new career and development resources available to give you advice or to help with that vital next step in your career.

ICAI has also trialled the use of 'Podcasting' to broaden the where appropriate.

Post-qualification programmes - We have introduced several excellent post-qualification programmes including Diploma courses focusing on International Financial Reporting Standards; People Management; and a Masters in Corporate Leadership, specifically designed for Chartered Accountants. A personal leadership programme in partnership with INSEAD, the international business school, will also commence in spring 2007. These programmes allow you to achieve additional accreditations, improving your competitive advantage and professional marketability.

Mentoring/Action Learning - We are currently piloting a number of innovative mentoring and action learning initiatives. Mentors provide a valuable reference point or 'touchstone' for our members, and the benefit of this informal resource should become available to more of our members over the coming months. In addition, action learning support is in place to advise members and their employers on how to get the most from 'on-the-job' learning.
