Networking

As every Chartered Accountant knows, a successful career in business involves getting to know the people involved in your field. We respond to your needs by organising an unparalleled range of educational and social events for members.

The major networking event of the Chartered Accountants Ireland calendar is the Annual Conference. Held over one and a half days, and catering for three streams - business, practice and tax - our conference has grown to be Ireland¹s largest domestic residential conference, involving over 500 people annually.

District Societies

Interested in meeting others in your region? Our District Societies are an invaluable networking resource for members. There are four active societies in Ireland - Ulster, Leinster, Mid-West, North West, Western and Cork, as well as one in London and another in Australia. These societies provide regional networking opportunities, including social, sporting, information and professional development activities, and engage in the organisation of brand promotion activities in their own areas.

Chartered Accountants in Business

These days, most Chartered Accountants are employed in business, so the Chartered Accountants in Business Committee is a very important resource. In addition to organising events itself, it teams up with sector-specific groups, including Insurance, Banking, Risk Management / Internal Audit, Commercial State Enterprises, etc. which give you the opportunity to meet a range of people involved in the business sector.

Chartered Accountants Ireland Business Groups

We are developing a unique pilot programme for business members around the country, to create a series of autonomous networks, allowing members to meet and discuss a range of matters impacting on businesses: for example how to deal with banks, the Revenue, billing, costing, HR matters, CRO matters, etc. Members will benefit greatly from the networking opportunities it provides and the mutual support they will receive.

Young Professionals

If you're 37 or under, then you¹ll be interested in the Young Professionals programme. It involves regular evening events and information meetings based on career development, personal financial planning and entrepreneurial experiences. Our extremely popular Annual Young Professionals Conference is designed to support personal and technical career development. As well as providing ideal networking opportunities, the focus on younger members means there is strong social element!

IT Interests

Your IT interests, which are increasingly relevant in an Irish context, are provided for through the CPD programme, a series of information fact sheets, and major events held in association with market leaders. Chartered Accountants Ireland are to the forefront of XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) activities in Ireland.
