Members of the Institute who wish to act as Insolvency Practitioners in the U.K. are required to obtain authorisation from the Dept. of Trade and Industry in London or the Dept. of Economic Development in Belfast.
The requirements for authorisation include passing the examination of the Joint Insolvency Examination Board.
The examination comprises the following three papers:
- Liquidations
- Receiverships, Administrations and Company Voluntary Arrangements
- Personal Insolvency
Each paper is 3 hours.
