The Institute is entering a new phase of its strategic development – a potential amalgamation with CPA Ireland and the implementation of a new Target Operating Model and data strategy. Supporting, this transformation, we are investing significantly in new capabilities and systems to ensure the Institute maintains its market leading position in Ireland. This investment will transform our CRM and ERP platforms, rollout RPA capability and process improvement supporting the implementation of a new Target Operating Model and data strategy.
Summary of the Role
This role is a senior leadership position within the Finance Department and carries an attractive remuneration package and opens opportunities for further development.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the transformation of our ERP, aligning with our strategic objectives, ensuring continued best practice internal controls and policies. The potential integration of our finance functions with CPA Ireland could be a key deliverable. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will take ownership of process improvement initiatives, lead the operational finance team, and collaborate with various stakeholders to drive cross-functional control and process enhancements. This role requires a qualified accountant with a minimum of 10 years' experience with strong team management skills, and a proven track record in process improvement. You will play a key part in financial governance and compliance including stakeholder communication with the Audit, Risk and Finance Board and Senior Leadership Team.

Key responsibilities
Process Improvement Leadership:
- Leadership role in the ERP replacement. Ensure all policies and processes are aligned with the platform and the new Target Operating Model.
- Take end-to-end ownership of process improvement activities for finance processes, standardization and streamlining to promote cost effectiveness.
- Analyse existing systems and processes, identifying challenges, and delivering projects to address them.
- Identify and implement ways to enhance and automate existing processes, leveraging emerging technologies, including RPA.
- Play a leading role in the establishment of a centralized procurement function within the Institute working with business areas to ensure value for money with effective compliance and coordination.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring effective recruitment, goal setting, and performance management.
- Lead and manage the finance operations team providing guidance and support fostering a culture of collaboration and of continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to drive performance improvements.
- Create strong business partnerships and manage service levels with senior internal stakeholders and external service providers including audit.
- Provide cross functional advice and guidance on finance policies and procedures.
Financial Controls and Compliance:
- Ensure consistent application of accounting and financial controls throughout the organisation.
- Develop and document business processes and finance policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Oversee our ERP ensuring accuracy, completeness, with timely financial reporting. Ensure financial procedures, and controls remain compliant with regulatory requirements and tax regulations and filings.
- Finance process owner for the billing processes and receivables management including maintenance of relationships with key customers and vendors to optimize cash flow.
- Manage and oversee day-to-day financial activities, including ERP, receivables management, payments, and payroll.
Required competencies and personal profile:
The Finance Transformation Manager plays a critical role in providing robust financial systems, processes, and compliance during a period of transformation and the organisation’s potential integration with CPA Ireland.
- Will have previous experience undertaking process improvement tasks or projects.
- Demonstrate strong accounting and leadership skills with potential to progress within the organisation.
- Excellent communication and soft skills to be able to foster trust with team members, other departments, senior management, and the Audit Risk and Finance Board.
The successful candidate should have:
- Qualified accountant (ACA/CPA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 10 years' experience.
- Demonstrated team management experience.
- Financial and Analytical Skills Strong foundation in Financial Accounting, compliance, and experience in initiating and driving projects to completion.
- Strong computer and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel (experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP or similar package is desirable).
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Communication and organisational skills - excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- The candidate should be comfortable communicating with multi-disciplined professionals both on the Institute’s management team and volunteers with business and practice backgrounds.
- The candidate should be a confident self-starter with excellent relationship building and presentation skills.
- The candidate should demonstrate a strong control and compliance focus with an ability to challenge the status quo, as well as demonstrate attention to detail, logical decision making and a hands-on approach.
