Chartered Accountants Ireland Annual Conference 2010

This year's Chartered Accountants Ireland Annual Conference will take place at Chartered Accountants House, in Dublin, on Thursday 6th & Friday 7th May.

Chartered Accountants Ireland is honoured to have as its keynote speaker An Taoiseach Mr Brian Cowen TD.

The conference retains its unique formula of a number of interesting plenary sessions followed by well defined streams which will allow all Chartered Accountants to engage with relevant topics regardless of their area of business. Technical, Blueskies and Tax streams feature on day one, and Business, Practice, Financial Services and Tax streams on day two. For the first time this year we have also introduced an additional networking session on day two, to bring you the best possible opportunity to engage with fellow members.

For information on the full programme please see the conference programme.

Speakers

We are honoured to have as our keynote speaker this year An Taoiseach Mr Brian Cowen TD.

Plenary speakers include Sean Fitzpatrick, former New Zealand All Blacks Captain, Matt Cooper, one of Ireland's leading broadcasters and journalists, Dan O'Brien, Senior Europe Editor, Economist Intelligence Unit, and Cormac McCarthy, Ulster Bank Chief Executive.

The theme of this year's conference is 'Turning the Corner' and we have planned an event which will consider the challenges & opportunities that await accountants as they try to lead the way out of the recent financial doom and gloom, and towards economic recovery. With a practical focus on how to learn lessons from the recent crisis and how to embrace new possibilities, the conference aims to be a must-attend event for accountants wanting to help the economy to turn the corner and start thriving instead of surviving.

Presentations include an update on solutions for distressed companies from Tom Kavanagh, Kavanagh Fennell, a presentation from Simon Murphy, Deloitte, on how social networking can help to build your brand and a presentation from Pat Farrell, Irish Bankers Federation, on moving beyond the financial crisis.

For more information on speakers presenting at the conference please see the speaker profiles.
