Chartered Accountants Ireland welcomes new Chief Executive Officer

The Council of Chartered Accountants Ireland is pleased to welcome Barry Dempsey to the role of Chief Executive of Chartered Accountants Ireland.  Barry officially took over the CEO position this week from previous CEO Pat Costello.

Barry has wide experience acting in Chief Executive roles both in the commercial private sector and in voluntary organisations with extensive executive leadership experience. Prior to joining the Institute, Barry held the position of Chief Executive of the Irish Heart Foundation. Before this, Barry was Managing Director of Peter Mark and Chief Executive of the Irish Cancer Society. He has also served as Chairman of the Council of the Irish Management Institute. Barry holds an MBA from Trinity College, Dublin.
