.Net Software Developer

Role based in Chartered Accountants Ireland, Dublin

We are now seeking to recruit an experienced Software Developer for a permanent role within the Institute. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role as part of our Web Team and help shape the future of Chartered Accountants Ireland. The ideal candidate should be energetic, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to their work, and should be comfortable working in a fast paced, highly flexible environment.  

This is an ideal role for a developer who wants to have more experience working in digital delivery. Working as part of the Communications and Marketing Department you will report to the Website Manager.

The role:

The areas of responsibility cover:

  • Troubleshooting and bug fixing the existing Website
  • Build and deploy new releases of the website
  • Work within the organisations to deliver high quality features and functionality.
  • Write well-structured code that conforms to accepted standards
  • Identify and fix performance issues
  • Help with server configurations and setup

The candidate:

  • Computer Science Degree or a related technical degree
  • 3 years post qualification working experience
  • Good communication skills including an ability to express yourself to technical and non-technical people
  • Staying up to date with current trends, and being able to translate them into suggestions and new ideas for our software and the way we work
  • Very strong team player able to deal with changing priorities
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Interest / aptitude to learn about professional services / education sector
  • Ability to develop unit testing of code components or complete applications
  • Building reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Deep programming language knowledge

Essential Technical Skills

  • .NET development, C#, SQL Server, T-SQL
  • CSS Frameworks
  • HTML & Javascript
  • Webservices
  • Web API (REST and SOAP)
  • Git or SVN

Desirable Technical Skills

  • Experience with automated deployment, integration testing and build scripts
  • Familiarity with OWASP
  • Crystal Reporting
  • Javascript Framework e.g. Node.js, REACT.js etc
