Institute launches “cleaner and fresher” corporate identity

Jun 01, 2017
Brendan O’Hora, Director of Marketing & Communications, introduces the Institute’s new corporate identity.

In addition to launching a new IT platform and new corporate website, the Institute also unveiled a refreshed corporate identity to mark a new chapter in our services to members and students.

The new corporate identity is sharper, more contemporary and works better on digital channels. The identity is still true to its original concept but its simpler design, cleaner look and fresher colours allows more flexibility and standout. As a result, the new identity will suitably represent the profession in Ireland and the qualities it stands for.
According to Niall Dowling, Director at Atomic design agency, who advised on the re-brand, the logo retains the key elements that are familiar from the original, but re-tools them in a way that is more contemporary and streamlined. “The iconic shield has been simplified and the typeface has been updated with a modern sans-serif to improve legibility, something that’s particularly important in digital applications. Two additional colours, a dark navy and aquamarine, have been introduced to broaden and modernise the colour palette,” he said. The simplicity of the new logo works particularly well on digital formats and lends itself to social media platforms such as Twitter.

Changing to the new logo

Just as the new logo has been rolled out on all new materials, we ask all members and our member firms to adopt the new logo and replace any instance of the old logo with the new identity. The new logo is available in various file formats and brand guidelines are available to download from the ‘Media Downloads’ area of the Institute’s new website.

We appreciate that firms will have existing stock of stationery with the old logo. It is our ambition that the new logo would be fully implemented by firms by the end of this year. Your assistance and support in achieving this would be greatly appreciated.
