Members have contacted the Institute this morning on what appears to be a bulk letter dispatch of Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme compliance check letters for employers who have not been checked to date under this project. This is a disappointing development as the Institute has told Revenue of the immense pressures currently facing accountants in business and in practice due to new deadlines associated with the various COVID-19 measures introduced by Revenue and the Government. Businesses and accountants are struggling to keep on top of their normal tax obligations and the unrelenting volume of deadlines emanating from Revenue is unacceptable. The Institute has requested Revenue to reconsider this approach.
