Revenue’s preliminary statistics on the Covid-19 support schemes show that almost €350 million in Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme payments were made in October. The information included on the Business Resumption Support Scheme shows that the tourism and hospitality sectors make up the largest portion of sectors who have availed on the scheme to date.
Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme (EWSS)
There are 28,300 employers registered for the scheme.
The provisional figures for October show that €349 million in EWSS payments were paid to 25,100 employers, supporting 283,300 employments during the month. The current rates of subsidy payable under the EWSS will continue to end November 2021, with new rates taking effect for December 2021 to February 2022 and for March to April 2022.
Business Resumption Support Scheme (BRSS)
The BRSS is available to businesses that were actively trading on 1 September 2021 and intend to continue doing so. Eligible businesses can register for BRSS via the e-Registration facility in ROS. Once registered, eligible businesses can make a claim at any time up to 30 November 2021 for the single payment support via the eRepayments facility.
So far, 1,410 businesses with 1,500 trades have availed of BRSS and claims of €4.9 million have been paid under the scheme. The largest portion of trades who have availed of the scheme are in the tourism and hospitality sectors.

COVID Restrictions Support Scheme (CRSS)
There are currently 140 businesses with 280 premises registered for CRSS. Total claims under the scheme amount to €704 million.
