Queen’s University Belfast Innovation Programme

Jun 06, 2019
The Institute was delighted to get involved with Queen’s University Belfast Innovation Programme which connected students (from various disciplines) and organisations together to work on a project for development week. Sinead Fox-Hamilton, Relationship Manager for the Institute, worked with an enthusiastic group of students to solve a real life business challenge set by Chartered Accountants Ireland. The group were tasked with looking at the issue of ‘How might Chartered Accountants Ireland attract more students from non-Accountancy backgrounds to the Chartered Accountancy professional pathway?’ All were schooled in design thinking and then the students set about solving the challenge using creative approaches and the project culminated with the students visiting the Institute’s Belfast office and presenting their proposed solution pitch to a panel. Lots of fantastic insights were gathered and all who partook thoroughly enjoyed their involvement and got a lot from it.
