Revenue warning: latest text and call scam

Mar 22, 2021

Revenue is aware of bogus phone calls and text messages being received by taxpayers from people purporting to work for Revenue. The calls and text messages seek personal information or bank details, telling the taxpayer they have a refund due, seeking an immediate payment of a tax bill or requesting card or bank account details for various reasons. Revenue will never ask a customer to provide personal information via telephone call, email, or text message. For advice on what to do if you think a call or text you’ve received is bogus, see the Revenue warnings on calls and text messages.
