Tax Certainty Day and 2018 Mutual Agreement Procedure statistics

Sep 16, 2019

The first OECD Tax Certainty Day is taking place today (16 September 2019) at OECD headquarters in Paris. Enhancing tax certainty is one of the main priorities of the OECD Forum on Tax Administration which brings together 53 advanced and emerging tax administrations.

According to the G20 Ministers, maintaining and enhancing tax certainty brings benefits for taxpayers and tax administrations alike and is key in promoting investment, jobs and growth. Which is particularly the case against the backdrop of the rapid digitalisation of the economy, the emergence of new business models, increased internationalization putting pressure on audit practices and driving changes in the international tax rules.

The 2018 Mutual Agreement Procedure (MAP) statistics were released today covering 89 jurisdictions. The MAP is a means through which competent authorities consult to resolve disputes regarding the application of double taxation conventions. The statistics released today contain detailed information on each jurisdiction as well as aggregated global information. Read more on the statistics and Tax Certainty Day.
