Our client is a multinational Financial Services organisation seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to report to the Financial Controller

Role Profile:

This is an opportunity for an experienced and ambitious senior financial accountant to join a growing organisation in the financial services sector. This role reports to the Financial Controller and provides an opportunity for the successful applicant to lead and take ownership of key tasks within Finance. This role will provide access and exposure to all departments and levels of the organisation. The ideal candidate must have an ability to step into, quickly understand and take ownership of assigned tasks and have a keen eye for process improvement. A team player with an ability to provide guidance and leadership to other members of the team, a strong business acumen with an ability to work on multiple tasks and effectively communicate with management in respect of their responsibilities. For this role knowledge of financial statement preparation is essential with a knowledge of tax an advantage.

The client is a leading provider of Retail Financial Services in Ireland, based in Dublin with Nationwide coverage.

Responsibilities include:

1. Accounting for several entities / divisions - Consolidation of accounts.
5. Debtors Management – review of client service fees calculations and related invoices
6. Ownership of the management reporting and statutory accounting work streams including the Group Consolidation file
7. Variance analysis as part of the quarterly reporting process
7. Cashflow Forecasting
8. SPV Servicer Report Reviews
9. Managing relationships with Corporate Service Providers to ensure alignment between Group and SPVs from an accounting perspective
10. Providing sign-off on process controls during the month end process
11. Systems Accounting in respect of HP and Lease Databases – learn, document and automate processes

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and knowledge:
1. Fully Qualified ACA with 2 to 5 years PQE ideally
2. Financial Services Experience
3. Understanding of securitisations and SPVs would be an advantage.
4. Previous experience of guiding and leading other team members
5. Excellent time management and planning skills so that work is prioritized and strict deadlines met even when faced with outside distractions
6. To work under pressure to strict deadlines in a changing environment
7. Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel with a eye for challenging existing processes
8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and the capacity to work on his/her initiative
9. Knowledge of Vat and Corporation tax not essential but an advantage
