Our SME client in the Advertising & Brand sector is seeking an ACA / FCA to takeresponsibility for the finance fnction of the €2M turnover business.

JOB SPECIFICATION – SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Responsible To: Directors.

Objectives: To take responsibility for the company’s financial planning, management and financial accounting, cashflow management and information technology requirements. To oversee the accounts department and to assist with the development of strategies for the company’s continued profitable growth.

Duties:
Day to day sales invoicing, reconcile bank accounts. Monthly payroll, monthly journals and control accounts. Monthly VAT returns.
To prepare financial budgets, cashflow forecasts and monthly management accounts with detailed analysis of quarterly figures by sector of business and to monitor actual performance against budget.
To further financial budgets, cashflow forecasts and monthly management accounts with detailed analysis of quarterly figures by sector of business and to monitor actual performance against budget.
To further develop the costing and financial reporting systems so that the availability of financial and pricing data keeps pace with the company’s growth.
To ensure that all reconciliations and systems of control properly operate on a prompt basis having due regard to proper recording and segregation of duties.
To manage the company’s cashflow including liaison with banks, overseeing and improving credit control procedures which are compatible with the company’s business and controlling the settlement of creditors.
To develop the information technology and communication systems so that the extent, timing and accuracy of financial and management information is improved in a cost effective manner.
To prepare all statutory financial statements and to liaise with the auditors. To ensure that all corporation and other tax returns are properly filed and that the relevant tax is paid by the due date and to review the cost effectiveness of all the company’s taxation arrangements.
To constantly review the financial and administrative arrangements for the proper protection of the company’s assets and minimising its liabilities.
To be a senior member of the management team and to liaise with the other heads of function in order to develop strategies for the continued development of the company’s operations and profitability and to undertake such other work as may be required from time to time.

Experience Required:
Candidates should preferably be a qualified ACA with at least 1-2 years experience. Competent decision maker with an ability to delegate and negotiate. Ability to take ownership, be proactive and achieve desired results is key. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Self starter with ability to work on own initiative and work to tight deadlines. Strong process performance skills. Proven technical ability and computer literacy.
