The Finance team is responsible for the Institute’s financial management and reporting, including related entities and staff pension schemes. The Institute is seeking applications from suitably experienced individuals to assume the role of Finance Manager for a 6 months contract , the role will include managing the finance operations team with overall responsibility for the accounts receivable area of the department. The Finance manager will partner and support relevant departments in areas such as preparing monthly accounts and accruals and providing guidance on all finance matters. This role will also involve project work in areas such as system implementation and process simplification for the Finance Department.
The Institute is currently in the implementation stage of its next medium-term strategy, Strategy 24. In this strategy, we have set out a vision as a growing, evolving, and modern organisation and will require the successful candidate to be involved in Strategy24 work streams. The role will provide an exciting opportunity to be part of leading change initiatives in the Institute and Finance Department.
Key responsibilities
Reporting to the Financial Controller the Finance Manager will be responsible for:
• Finance business partner to a segment of the Institute’s operating departments - preparing monthly accounts, quarterly forecasts, annual budget and providing advice and guidance on finance related matters. • Researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance and identifying areas for potential improvement. • Managing the finance operations staff with overall responsibility for accounts receivable. • Preparation of financial statements for 4 subsidiary entities, co-ordination of audit and liaising with entity Boards in respect of the annual accounts.

Full Time Position
Role based in Chartered Accountants Ireland, Dublin Office
• Business partner with related entities throughout the year involving liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
• Finance lead on the Institute’s annual budget preparation and forecasting cycles.
• Providing insightful information to senior management to aid long-term and short-term decision making.
• Presenting financial reports to board members and key stakeholders.
• Manage and implement a culture of continuous improvement through business change initiatives including reviewing current systems.
• Development and implementation of process improvements via process automation and process simplification within the finance function. Liaise with system users to streamline and develop solution upgrades.
• Other duties and projects as assigned by the Financial Controller or Finance Director.
The Financial Manager will be expected to develop and maintain proactive and trusting relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Accordingly, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following competencies:
Required Competencies
• Qualified accountant with 3-5 years’ post qualification experience in a finance role.
• Previous experience of managing a small team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise
• Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral. • Excellent business and financial acumen
• Strong process orientation.
• Experience of working with senior management would be advantageous.
• Excellent MS office skills, particularly Excel skills (pivot, v-lookup tables), Word and PowerPoint essential.
Knowledge of Dynamic Great Plains accounting system beneficial.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and evaluative skills with the ability to identify and leverage relevant data to use in planning and decision-making.
