Chartered Accountants Ireland (“The Institute”) is a membership body representing over 26,000 influential members throughout the globe. Our role is to educate, represent and support our members.

The Role:

This role is with Chartered Accountants Ireland’s Member Service department, responsible for the delivery of a range of services and supports for our members including ongoing professional development, Diplomas and other qualifications, career advice, recruitment services and coaching as well as high profile events, conferences and conferrings. 

Reporting to: Professional Development Team lead.

The Expectations:

 This is a newly created role which has been established to enhance engagement with new members during their critical first year of membership, providing them with timely and relevant information and being a key point of contact.  In addition the role supports the running of a number of conferring’s which take place on admission to membership and after 10 and 50 years of membership.  It will also provide administrative support to the Institute’s member committees.

New members support and Conferring’s:

  • Be the visible, accessible and approachable point of contact for members in their first year or membership and for those attending conferring ceremonies (new members and others), dealing with queries and requests in open and professional manner, ensuring members as the customer centre of all engagements.
  • Ensuring clear and appropriate communication about membership in the first year and conferring’s using various channels including email and website, as well as developing new and innovative channels.
  • Running high calibre events, working within allocated budgets, liaising with key stakeholders and suppliers and ensuring the highest levels customer engagement and ultimately positive member experience. 
  • Scheduling events liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders. Managing resources such as booking venues, catering, AV etc.
  • Preparation and distribution of and issue membership certificates as well as managing ad hoc requests for duplicate/replacement certificates.
  • Monitoring and tracking costs against budgets for events.

Committees and networks:

  • Provide administrative support to a number of the Institutes member committees, organizing meetings, supporting the Chair of the committee, circulating communication, taking minutes and any other administrative support required.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement with member committees, ensuring support is provided in an efficient, accurate and professional manner.
  • Support member committees with event management activities.
  • The role will also provide support to a number of business networks in Dublin and abroad assisting the chairs of these groups by communicating on their behalf with members in their catchments about events.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director.

The Candidate:

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience in a customer centric role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of developing customer communications e.g. emails/letter etc.
  • Experience in a role managing large volumes of customers and providing excellent customer experiences.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate tasks in an effective manner.
  • Team fit is hugely important and the successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team and interact and support the others.
  • Competent in a range of IT software and platforms
  • An ability to take on new duties and support others when required within the team
  • Flexibility around working hours is a prerequisite as conferring’s and committee events regularly take place in the evenings and early mornings.

Desirable

  • Demonstrable experience in event management.
