PR and Communications Executive

Term: permanent
Hours: full time
Location: Chartered Accountants Ireland, Dublin 

The PR and Communications Executive will work with the PR and Communications Manager to further enhance the Institute’s communications programme to members and support the delivery of the public relations at Chartered Accountants Ireland. The role contributes to a diverse set of activities in the areas of PR, Corporate Communications and Stakeholder supports.  

The Role:

Press and PR

  • Contribute to the development and execution of Institute’s annual PR plan
  • Generate ideas to drive positive media coverage
  • Maximise use of online tools for media tracking and monitoring, maintaining records of media coverage, managing relationship with media monitoring service
  • Take ownership of discrete PR campaigns, e.g. the activation of events
  • Support the PR Manager in managing the flow of external content and news items, including assisting with the internal Voice Steering group and liaising with key internal contributors
  • Work closely with Marketing & Planning team to activate external communications opportunities effectively on social media

Corporate Communications

  • Lead the collation and production of core Institute publications such as the annual report and maximise readership of these through a range of print, digital and other channels
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to maintain and report an accurate account of the Institute’s lobbying activities
  • Operate cross functionally to support the creation of content for member-facing communications activities e.g. reporting on events, administering surveys
  • Work as part of overall Institute editorial group to contribute to member-facing email communications
  • Adhere to, enforce and develop Institute communications processes and channels

Stakeholder supports

  • Provide a range of supports to senior stakeholders in pursuit of Institute and Presidential objectives – this could include event management, data collation, drafting content or other coordination efforts
  • Support the Executive Assistant to the CEO/President in the detailed delivery of member- and external-facing activities, e.g. organising and supervising photo shoots, coordinating guest lists
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Marketing & Planning team

 

The Candidate

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • 3rd level qualification in communications, marketing or related field
  • 2+ years’ experience in communications or related field
  • Very high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent written communications skills
  • Highly competent with Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
  • Strong personal management skills, including liaising with internal stakeholders and handling multiple projects
  • Flexible, motivated and energetic team player able to deal with changing priorities
  • Strong risk radar and problem-solving skills
  • Enthusiasm and appetite to learn and take initiative
  • Interest / aptitude to learn about professional services / education sector

     

    Desirable:

  • 2+ years’ experience with email marketing systems or marketing automation tools desirable
  • Experienced with social media management
  • Experience of other tools such as SurveyMonkey and Qualtrics desirable
