At a recent meeting of the TALC, the CCAB-I requested that Revenue minimise interventions over the Autumn deadline period, to allow taxpayers and their accountants focus their attentions on filing returns. Revenue noted that a significant proportion of audit staff are now allocated to the TWSS compliance check process and that the number of audit interventions is minimal at present, with levels expected to remain low throughout the deadline period. Revenue is sensitive to the pressures that taxpayers and their agents are currently facing and will continue to facilitate requests from accountants for additional time in preparing a response to a timebound Revenue information request.
