Vice-President Margrethe Vestager on the Apple tax State aid case
Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, Margrethe Vestager, has said that “we will carefully study the judgment and reflect on possible next steps” following the judgment by the General Court that annuls the European Commission’s decision that Ireland granted illegal State aid to Apple through selective tax breaks. The Vice-President also said that “the Commission will continue to look at aggressive tax planning measures under EU State-aid rules to assess whether they result in illegal State aid.” Read the press statement on the European Commission’s website for more information. The decision of the General Court in the Apple case is considered in the tax case digest section of this issue.
