This course is a must attend for all auditors and accountants of practices with clients in the Charities sector, as well as for accountants working directly in this sector.
Course overview
Topics to be covered at this course include:
- Problems identified with charity reporting;
- Current charity annual reporting requirements and
likely future changes;
- The evolution and current requirements of the Charity
SORP (FRS 102);
- The best practice for the audit of Charities ; and
- Update on the Regulatory environment in this area and likely upcoming changes
A Questions & Answers session will also be held at the end of the course, allowing attendees to address their questions directly to the speakers on the matters of most relevance.

Conal Kennedy
Conal is Head of Practice Consulting in Chartered Accountants Ireland. He and his team provide advice and support to practices throughout Ireland, and publish a range of practice toolkits covering audit, accounting and compliance. Over a ten year period in Practice Consulting, Conal has coached and advised many practices through major change events such as mergers, acquisitions and retirements. He has also advised on practice development and marketing.
Eamon O'Halloran
Eamon was reappointed as Head of Registration and Projects at the Charities Regulator in February 2019 having served in a similar role from 2015 to June 2018. He leads on the establishment and maintenance of a Public Register of Charities, including annual reporting, to underpin trust and confidence in charities. Eamon has significant experience in both the public and private sectors. He holds an Advanced Diploma in White Collar Crime, a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and Postgraduate Diploma in Business Studies.
