I am a member of another body
If you are a qualified member of another professional accountancy body, you could be eligible to join Chartered Accountants Ireland. We have various routes to membership, including reciprocal agreements.
Chartered Accountants Ireland has reciprocity agreements with a number of other Institutes that allows members of other accountancy bodies apply to Chartered Accountants Ireland for membership. Usually applicants to Chartered Accountants Ireland will have to undertake local company law and taxation exams before being allowed to become members.
Chartered Accountants Ireland has MRAs with the following Institutes:
- The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
- CPA Canada
- The Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand
- The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants
- The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants
- The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland
- The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales
- The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe
- The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants

Chartered Accountants Ireland offers exemptions to members of the following Professional Bodies:
- ACCA: Members who have completed IRL/UK Tax and Law variants can claim exemption from CAP1 and CAP2 examinations.
- CIMA: Members who have completed IRL/UK Tax and Law variants can claim exemption from the full CAP1 exam and CAP2 Strategic Finance and Management Accounting.
