CASSI

Welcome to CASSI

The Chartered Accountants Student Society of Ireland is your society and our society. As representatives of the student body, we’re here to support each other on our journeys to becoming Chartered Accountants through good times and bad.

All of us might need some help from time to time, whether it’s information, a listening ear, access to networks and more. As a society, CASSI liaises with the Institute and CA Support to secure and inform of resources available to students. In line with the Institute’s and CASSI’s focus, work-life balance is always in focus. We have an ongoing emphasis on mental health and all aspects of wellbeing: physical, emotional and mental.

CASSI are active in arranging events with a range of topics and themes and always welcome hearing from you directly. These events can be at an overall CASSI level or regional, so we hope to be able to include everyone. We encourage and invite you to link up with us on our social media platforms for the latest updates. CASSI love to hear from you directly – your voice and engagement is always heard and truly valued.

Our current Chair is Grace Tighe. Formerly CASSI’s Education Officer, Grace has great experience with all aspects of student life, and has a particular focus in supporting students in the move to the online educational and examination platform. She has been elected to the role of Chair for the year and is committed to representing and advocating for the full student body.

Grace recently completed her FAE exams and is 3rd year Associate in Banking, Aviation Finance and Insurance in PwC; so understands the challenges students face on route to Chartered Accountancy. Grace aims to use her position as Chair to support students on their road to membership.

In 2022, CASSI elected three pillars on which they would base their actions and activities off for the coming year. Our first pillar is Diversity and Inclusion. In the coming year, CASSI would like all members to feel represented and will ensure that the contributions and perspectives of different groups are valued and celebrated. Our second pillar is One CASSI. Our One CASSI pillar focuses on ensuring all students, regardless of location or entry method, have a chance to engage in CASSI events and meet fellow members. Our final pillar for the CASSI society of 2022/23 is the future of work and study. This pillar focuses on supporting students in educational delivery and examinations as they navigate the world of online learning. CASSI will continue to work with Barden, the group’s sponsor, to host webinars, one-to-one sessions and some in-person events aimed at helping students plot out the next phase of their career and equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to take their next steps after their training contract.

To keep in touch and get on board, follow us. We always love hearing from you.
