Due to our unique working relationship with Ireland's top employers, we have a freely available list of training vacancies positions. This is a list of firms and companies with open Chartered Accountancy trainee positions.

If you are interested in a position please contact the organisations directly. While most of the positions are in practice with a Training Contract on offer, there are also some companies in Industry hiring trainees via the Flexible Route.


Are all vacancies listed?

Not all registered training firms and businesses will advertise positions on our training vacancy page and please bear in mind that not all registered organisations are listed on our website. So make sure to contact any firm or business directly if you want to find out if they have any open training positions.

Some firms will only recruit during the "Milkrounds" this takes place in colleges and universities around the country where firms and businesses with conduct presentations and exhibitions on campus to advertise Training Contracts and recruit students focusing on the graduate classes of degrees in accounting, finance, and other relevant areas. Free advertising of vacancies

Firms and companies with training vacancies can advertise free of charge on our website. Simply  email us with the text you wish to use for your advertisement.

If you are an existing Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or are interested in having your firm or company authorised to train Chartered Accountants under a Training Contract, we have a lot of information available (see link below), including all the forms you’ll need to download.

FINANCE

Working as part of the Finance team you will have the opportunity to prepare management accounts and statutory accounts for a range of HSC clients as well as supporting the BSO internal management accounts function in the preparation of accounts for the various BSO directorates.  You will gain an understanding of the funding processes within various HSC organisations and will work with clients to prepare and agree annual budgets.  As you prepare the monthly accounts the outturn will be monitored against these budgets.  You will also gain an understanding of the statutory accounting and Departmental requirements and targets including the need to breakeven.  You will also have the opportunity to work with the banking and control team, capital team and financial governance team within finance to gain additional knowledge and experience of these areas. 

INTERNAL AUDIT

Working as part of the Internal Audit team you will perform risk based internal audit assignments across the BSO Internal Audit client base.  Working in Internal Audit, you will perform audits across all areas of risk in the HSC, giving you experience in financial audits and many non-financial audit areas.  When conducting an audit, you will be required to document and understand the processes under review, perform tests on the audit area to ensure compliance with requirements and draft an audit report to present your findings and recommendations to client Senior Management and the Audit Committee.  As well be being an excellent accountancy training ground, internal audit will give you a sound understanding of controls and processes within the HSC and offers a good starting point for a career in the wider HSC. 

In addition to the training within Finance and Internal Audit you will also have the opportunity to attend other courses to provide you with other general management skills and focus on other areas of personal development which will enhance your overall training experience.
