Speaker Bio's
David Swinburne is a financial advisory partner at
Mazars. With over 20 years of experience as a Chartered Accountant, he
specialises in various areas, including business advisory, turnaround and
restructuring, corporate finance, transaction services, and forensic
accounting. David's expertise lies in advising Irish family businesses and
SMEs at all stages of their life cycle, from start-up to growth phases. He
provides strategic advice and solutions to companies facing difficulties,
working closely with both businesses and finance providers. His services include
corporate trading and business reviews, restructuring, due diligence, M&A
assignments, fundraising, and dispute resolution. David's experience spans
multiple sectors, including hospitality and leisure, manufacturing and
technology, retail, professional and financial services, healthcare,
agriculture, logistics and distribution, property, engineering, and renewable
energy. He holds an Insolvency Practising Certificate from Chartered
Accountants Ireland, which authorises him to act as an Examiner, Liquidator, and
Receiver.
Hilary Larkin leads a team of professionals at Mazars in
Ireland who provide a range of financial management and outsourcing services.
Her role involves assisting a wide range of clients including start-ups,
established domestic businesses and multinational clients, as well as leading
global engagements across multiple jurisdictions. Hilary’s background and
specialist area lie in the implementation and delivery of large-scale
outsourcing projects to clients across a diverse range of sectors and
jurisdictions. She provides accounting, payroll, tax compliance, HR and advisory
services for clients. Together with her team, they provide compliance and
business support for foreign corporates establishing operations in Ireland and
Irish companies investing overseas. Hilary is also an experienced and
well-known insolvency
professional and is responsible for the management of a large and diverse
portfolio of receivership, examinership and liquidation cases. She has extensive
experience in residential, commercial and development property sectors.
Over the course of her career, on behalf of financial institutions and
investors, she has carried out numerous independent
business reviews of companies in financial difficulty, across a wide range
of sectors, advising them on building viable turnaround strategies. She has also
acted on behalf of several privately-owned businesses in the execution of
restructuring solutions including examinerships and SCARPs. Hilary is a
fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland and sits on several
technical committees. She is a member of the Mazars Global Outsourced Financial
Management Services group.
Laura-Michelle Moore works in the Advocacy and Voice
Department in the Institute which is responsible for delivering content and
guidance of relevance to members including on insolvency. She is a Chartered
Accountant and has many years' experience working in the area of Corporate
Recovery and Insolvency.
