Speaker Bios
David Murray is a senior executive with a high energy personal style, a
distinguishing capability in "transformational" leadership and a real passion
for building winning teams. This combination of skills has driven a strong track
record of delivery over 30 years in consumer products spanning a broad range of
P&L and Functional Leadership positions.
David has spent the past 5 years at pladis, a leading global snacking player,
with iconic brands such as McVitie’s, Godiva, Jacobs, Carr’s, and Ulker. He has
recently been appointed to the newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer
with responsibility for global portfolio strategy, brand strategies and
commercial transformation, unlocking the next wave of pladis’ global expansion.
Prior to this appointment, David was Managing Director of pladis UK &
Ireland where he led a very successful transformation of the business, and
reigniting the much-loved McVitie’s brand.
Prior to joining pladis, David spent 26 years with PepsiCo in various general
management and functional roles, across multiple categories including five years
as General Manager of the nutrition business, first in the UK and then with
responsibility for Western Europe. David began his career as a graduate trainee
with the Kerry Group, qualifying as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of
Management Accountants. He holds an MBA from the Open University and a BA in
Business Studies from the Waterford Institute of Technology.
Sinéad Donovan is a chartered accountant and recently
completed 20 plus years as partner in Grant Thornton Ireland, with the last 4
being as chair of the firm.
As chair she oversaw the transition of the firm to a global platform with the
merger with the US Grant Thornton firm and effectively the largest PE
transaction in the profession in Ireland to date.
She was president of Chartered Accountants Ireland 2023 / 2024 and is
passionate about the opportunities that the profession give to students and
members.
Currently Sinéad sits on a number of boards including as a global trustee for
GIRLS NOT BRIDES; strategic advisor to Barden recruitment and INED for Homestore
and More - one of the largest Homeware chains in Ireland.
She is also trying to use the time at the moment to re-enter the world of
endurance racing but struggling with an ageing body!
