Course overview
Some of the topics to be covered during this session will include:
- The key company filings with the CRO – how to ensure
your clients continue to meet their company law requirements and what is new
for 2026 at the CRO.
- The key considerations relating to recent legislation
including the Companies (Corporate Governance, Enforcement and Regulatory
Provisions) Act 2024 , the Employment (Collective Redundancies and
Miscellaneous Provisions), and Companies (Amendment) Act 2024.
- 2025 enacted changes to the loss of Audit Exemption
for late Filing and the practical implementation of these new rules.
- The latest Corporate Enforcement Authority (CEA)
enforcement activity updates & guidance issued by the Authority.
- The Register of Beneficial Ownership - the key
requirements, dealing with discrepancies, accessing, and updating the
Register; and
- The most common Company Secretarial changes.
Recent Institute interactions with the CRO will also be a focus area, while
time will also be set aside for your questions on this topic.

Speaker Bios
Jeremy Twomey FCA - Jeremy in his role as
Head of Practice Consulting works alongside his team to support our member
practitioners across our service areas, with a particular focus on compliance
support, training, and our associated advisory services. Jeremy is a Fellow of
the Institute, having trained with Ernst & Young; he has held senior
management positions across both financial and professional services, as well as
the public sector.
Sarah Colfer – Sarah is the Director of
Corporate Secretarial Services at Forvis Mazars in Ireland. Her qualifications
include the FCG certification from the Chartered Governance Institute UK &
Ireland, which underscores her expertise in corporate governance and
administration. As part of her role with Forvis Mazars, Sarah offers her clients
strategic guidance on complex corporate transactions, including mergers,
acquisitions, restructurings, and dissolutions.
