Revenue informed Chartered Accountants Ireland that reminder letters will issue to 30,000 taxpayers whose corporation tax returns are outstanding for accounting periods ending in 2019. The concession for the non-application of a late filing surcharge will continue to apply until 1 July 2021, as per Revenue’s press release setting out the importance of filing timely tax returns. However, companies with outstanding tax returns risk losing access to the Covid tax debt warehousing scheme and losing tax clearance, which in turn may impact a company’s access to the EWSS and CRSS Government support schemes.
The letters are due to issue tomorrow, Wednesday 7 April, and a copy of the letter is available here.
