The COVID-19 Support Schemes preliminary statistics as at 17 June 2021 are now available. There are currently 22,700 businesses with 26,700 premises registered for the Covid Restrictions Support Scheme (CRSS). Since 31 May claims amounting to €25.7 million have been made for 5,700 premises. Of these 2,700 premises have claimed for their enhanced restart payments.
There are 48,800 employers currently registered for Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme (EWSS) (including 1,600 re-registrations). This excludes 5,200 employers who were previously registered. EWSS payments of €169.2 million have been made to 25,000 employers, supporting 244,100 employments in June to date.
A detailed table is included in the preliminary statistics on employee movements within the EWSS between April and May. In May 3,090 employers started or restarted using EWSS to support their employees. The largest share (1,800) was in the hairdressing and other beauty treatment sector. Of the 3,090, over 90 percent are small businesses with less than 10 employees.
