The COVID-19 Support Schemes preliminary statistics as at 13 May have been published. The statistics provide an overview of the Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme (EWSS), the Covid Restrictions Support Scheme (CRSS) and the Debt Warehousing Scheme.
The latest statistics show that EWSS payments of €87.8 million were paid to 21,300 employers in respect of 181,800 employees during May to date. 171,800 claims for CRSS payments of €533 million in respect of 25,000 premises have been made to date and €530 million of this has been processed for payment.
Over 85,000 businesses have availed of the Debt Warehousing Scheme, which includes 2,600 Large Cases and Medium Enterprises Division taxpayers. Total liabilities warehoused amount to €2.3 billion. This includes €1.2 billion in VAT liabilities, over €1 billion in Employers PAYE and €36 million in income tax.
