FAE August 2018 exam results released

Oct 26, 2018

Chartered Accountants Ireland published the FAE August 2018 exam results this morning.  Overall the results are very good and are broadly in line with the good performances achieved in August 2016 and 2017.

In reviewing the results Ian Browne (Head of Assessment & Syllabus) noted:

  • 80% of students achieved a pass in all papers sat with a further 14% achieving a credit (i.e. passing one or more of papers sat).  This compares to 75% and 18% in 2017.  The number of students failing all papers sat was 6% (7% in August 2017);
  • Paper pass rates:  The pass rates on individual papers are broadly in line with the good performances of August 2016 and 2017;
  • The flexible route candidates have continued to perform well;
  • The distance education offerings have also performed well.
