Ireland
1. The Institute, under the auspices of CCAB-I, response to the KEEP consultation highlights the obstacles deterring uptake of the scheme.
2. Revenue advised at a recent meeting of TALC Audit that it intends to contact PAYE taxpayers regarding unclaimed PAYE and USC refunds and employee share scheme non-compliance.
UK
3. As part of the ongoing discussions regarding HMRC service levels, the Institute is to attend a bespoke meeting on HMRC performance in the next few weeks and will share member feedback received directly with HMRC. 4. In a statement, the Institute said that the publication by the UK government of a Bill to override certain elements of the Northern Ireland Protocol will create further uncertainty for businesses in Northern Ireland and is unacceptable in the current economic climate.

5. A public hearing was held last week by the European Parliament’s sub-committee on Tax Matters and focused specifically on Ireland’s corporate tax policy.
