Last week, the Institute wrote to the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Simon Coveney TD, calling for updates to the Temporary Business Energy Support Scheme (TBESS). The Institute is proposing the following changes to TBESS, on either an administrative or legislative footing:
- Reduce the energy cost thresholds from the current threshold of 50 percent.
- Simplify the process involved in making a claim for TBESS.
- Introduce a mechanism for businesses in Ireland using unmetered energy sources to make a valid claim.
