In June 2018, the European Commission alleged that Engie group had received unlawful State Aid from Luxembourg in the form of a tax ruling regarding certain profits received. In May 2021, the General Court of the European Union upheld the Commission’s findings. Now, in an Opinion delivered on 4 May 2023, Advocate General Kotott has recommended that the Court of Justice should set aside the judgment of the General court and annul the Commission decision.
