Oxford University’s Irish Vice-Chancellor addresses Chartered Accountants Ireland’s Annual Dinner

Tramore-native Professor Louise Richardson, Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University was the keynote speaker at last evening’s (Thurs 8 Feb 2018) Chartered Accountants Ireland Annual Dinner in the Convention Centre, Dublin, having as its theme ‘A Celebration of Talent’. 

Prof. Richardson gave an audience of over 700 guests her unique perspective on current issues such as the future of university education, gender diversity and women leaders in business. While acknowledging the progress that has been made recently with greater female representation in the professions, Prof. Richardson called for to be done to ensure that more women occupy a greater proportion of top-level positions in business and society. 

In-keeping with the evening's theme, a special recognition award was presented to the Institute's first female President, Margaret Downes FCA.   Guests also heard from President Shauna Greely FCA and Institute CEO Barry Dempsey.
